Personalized Healthcare was founded in 2009 as an answer to the ever-changing healthcare system which seemed to de-prioritize the patient experience in favor of profit. Dr. William Scott, after a distinguished medical career in multiple traditional medical and hospital settings, felt that it was time to return to a medical model with time spent on quality visits, meaningful care, and quality outcomes. Focused on preventive medicine and the holistic needs of the client, he created PHC to address the increasingly cold and distant model of primary care. The best way to do this, he felt, was to set up a concierge model in which, for a modest retainer, patient loads were kept low and direct access to the care provider was offered. Relationships became more important than regulations; outcomes became more important than reimbursement; and most importantly, ACCESS became more important than insurance status.

Today, PHC has evolved into a multi-faceted, multi-generational practice with care for patients from birth to the well-ripened.

Our focus lies heavily on prevention, and we address the whole person, every time. With a healthy approach to the roles of diet, exercise, mental health, endocrine status, the latest evidenced-based medicine, and overall self-care and well-being, we have been providing earnest and effective care to a wide variety of patients for many years.

PHC offers a hybrid model of concierge care; while we have a retainer system, often paid quarterly, yearly or monthly, we also bill traditional insurance. This allows us to keep our patient numbers low enough to spend quality time with each person, while keeping our concierge fees to the lowest amount in the state. PHC is also an excellent option for the uninsured for whom primary care is often financially out of reach. We have plans ranging from individual to family – no phone trees, no waiting lists, no emergency rooms, no exorbitant charges, no weeks-long delays in an appointment when you need one. Recently, Dr. Scott has expanded to include family nurse practitioner Kendall Dorie (RN, MSN, FNP-C). Ms. Dorie’s expertise expands the capacity of the office and assures that this model can continue and evolve well into the future.
